This is my first post here on the boards. I have read a lot of threads and have done a lot of googling prior to posting. I am looking for some help with my Kenmore range (79094110400).
About a week ago the oven stopped working. Both the broiler and the oven do not heat up at all. The burners work fine, like there is nothing wrong. With it being the holiday weekend, I had time to tear it apart and investigate. From what I have read online, when both go at the same time, it normally means it is the thermal fuse that blew. So I opened up the back panels to locate it, and could not find it. I watched a few youtube videos on what they look like and where they are located, but had no luck. I looked through the parts list manual, and do not see the word fuse listed anywhere. Is it possible to have an electric range and no thermal fuse? I have attached several pictures of what I am looking at here and I am looking for possible solutions. Please help!
I do not think that the unit has a thermal fuse (cut-off).
They are usually used on built in ovens not ranges.
Odds are that the control board is shot.
You may also need an overlay. They are peel and stick and often get ruined trying to remove them from the control board. Sometimes heating them up with a hair dryer will help get them off in good shape.
I am assuming that the unit never comes ready (always in pre-heat).
If it does show ready then it may be a problem with the oven sensor.
Ok, so I have an update. I borrowed a multimeter from work to test the terminals. The good news is I have the 220 VAC between L2-OUT and BAKE as well as L2-OUT and BROIL. The Broil now works, heats up real nice. However the Bake does not, it just stays on Preheat and never kicks on. Whats my next step, what should I be checking?
