Kenmore Series 80 Motor shaft won't remove

I’ve got a Kenmore series 80 washer that I’ve replaced the coupler on a couple times and the clutch once. It needs the clutch done again (lots of sports in the family and this washer has worked HARD) so I started disassembling and the motor/tranny/clutch comes partway out, then the motor shaft will not slide out. It comes as far as the bottom of the splines inside the basket, then no further. HARD strikes with a hammer and 2x4 move it a little, but won’t let it come free.

Anyone with an idea? I’ve taken all the retaining clips off the basket side, so that’s not it. My next solution is a bigger hammer, but I’m not sure this will even work.

the trans slides into the basket drive. the the walls of the basket drive(brake or spin tube) and the drive shaft of the trans are scored. this causing drag and the clutch to slip. you can grab the plastic actuator on the basket drive, pull down while rotating it. this will remove both the trans and basket drive. you can then apply heat to the basket drive and separate, but you have to replace the basket drive. if the trans is to bad it may not slide into the new basket drive.
