my frig is freesing the food freeze do not seem cold
Sorry but I do not understand the problem.
Could you please explain it better with info on what is running/what is not and more symptoms.
i have a kenmore side by side and the refrigerator side set at normal started freezing the food. i slide the control lever to almost the off position and it still is to cold. now the freezer side seems to warm thing are not frozen solid ice is soft.
Your symptoms seem to conflict re: freezer too warm while the fresh food is too cold.
Check the fresh food side temperature, should be around 40 degrees F.
Check that the vent lower down on the side wall of the compartments is clear of food etc on both sides.
Looks like the amount of cold air directed into the fresh food side is just a mechanical damper (door), check that it opens/closes when you adjust the fresh food side dial.
Check the freezer temperature should be between 0 and 5 degrees F.
Is the evaporator/freezer fan running?
Is the condenser/compressor fan running?
Is the compressor cycling normally or is it always on (other than when it is in a defrost cycle)?
Is there evidence od ice/frost build up on the evaporator coils. This may indicate a defrost problem.
