Kenmore Stove-broiler and bake element wont come on

Hello,
I hope someone can help me with this. My oven was working fine last night and then this morning when I went to cook breakfast neither element would come on. The buttons all worked like normal, the clock, preheat light…everything, even the click from the clock panel when you turn it on. All the range top burners are fine. My husband is pretty handy and has an electric tester but he just needs some direction. Boy, it seems like one thing after another these days! I hope someone can help us.

Thanks in advance,
Debbie

Here is the wiring diagram.

Do the surface elements work?
If not try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times.

If they work. does the unit stay in pre-heat or does it show that the oven is ready?

If it shows that it is ready it could be an oven sensor problem.

If it stays in pre-heat, unplug the unit and check the wires to the elements and control board.
If all OK odds are that the control board is toast.

Thanks so much for your reply! The surface burners work fine and the oven does not go out of preheat so I am going to have my husband look at the wiring. What exactly are we suppose to be looking for when we inspect the wiring? If it turns out to be the control board is that something that we can replace ourselves? Thanks Denman, we just have no new stove money to speak of right now!

What exactly are we suppose to be looking for when we inspect the wiring?
You are looking to see if any of the wires has overheated or burned off.

Yes if everything looks OK then I would replace the control board.

Be sure the unit is unplugged when working on it, 240 volts is lethal.

Ok, we checked the wiring and it looks ok. He put an electric tester on it and followed these instructions: http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/469857-kenmore-range.html#post727455
Nothing registered on the tester in both cases so I ordered the control board from the Appliances Pro place. I will let you know if that takes care of it. I sure do hope so. Thanks again for your help.
