Kenmore washer not spinning or agitating, just "humming"

Hi,

I have a Kenmore washer (11020712991) that fills up but does not spin or agitate. The motor just hums like it wants to work but something’s jamming it. I checked the motor coupler and that is fine. I also checked the pump to make sure that wasn’t holding the motor up… it was fine too. What am I missing and need to check? Thank you for your help!

Hi.

First check the wire harness and connections from the motor and start capacitor to the timer and selector switch.
Check the capacitor (you’ll need a multimeter). The info is on the capacitor.
