Kitchen aid side by side not cooling at all

Unit quit cooling all of a sudden, no prior issues. Compressor won’t come on, everything else seems to be functioning properly. Unit is making a loud click at the compressor, assuming it’s the relay making the noise. Any good/safe way to check the capacitor and relay? Any way to confirm the compressor itself is not bad?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, there is no replacement part available for the compressor start device, only universal items that I would not recommend.
If you have a meter, I can guide you to fix it.

Took the relay off, looks and sounds like it’s toast. Have found starter "kits" for around $40 that look like they include the cover, the relay, and the overload. Looks like the relay should cost about $2. Not sure if you can find the relay by itself? A switch for my microwave was $40 from Generous Electric, found it at Fry’s for $2.

Give me part numbers so I can check, a bad part can burn out your compressor.

Model # of the fridge is KSRS25QDWH03
Relay # is 8EA4B3
I do have a meter at home with the fridge. The relay is definitely gone. No signs of overheating as far as discoloration or smell.

That relay # means nothing to me. I would order a ptcr AP3414961 and the mating klixon AP206490 and take a picture of the wiring, or make a schematic, so you know where the wires go.
Post back before you stick the parts in so I can help you wire it if needed.

The relay # is the one marked on the relay itself. The pictures for the one you referenced looks very similar to the one I have, physically should work.

Looks good, let me know when the parts come in, should be a routine fix.

Ordered the part on Friday, came in on Saturday. Installed the relay, it was a little tight getting it on the compressor. Hooked up the wires based on how they were before. Plugged the unit in, has been working great ever since. I’m eternally grateful for your help.

Hi there,
I have the same fridge and the same problem, If someone please can tell me were the relay is located I would appreciate it.
Thanks

Behind the cover on the side of the compressor.

Hi
When you say: Behind the cover on the side of the compressor; Is it accessing from the bottom on the back of the fridge or from the inside?
Thanks again
