The dishwasher was giving us a very loud noise and not getting the dishes clean. I called a technician and he came out and serviced the unit. It worked fine. However, he told me that the main control unit was going to need replacing eventually. After about three months the unit would not respond to the buttons being pushed and would not start on any cycle. I ordered the control assembly and replaced it. The unit worked fine for about a week. At this point the lights would light up but not start the unit. I ordered the electrical control board that is located right behind the buttons. My thought was that it had bad circuits and was not sending the signal to the control assembly. When I recieved and replaced the board nothing changed. I checked the ribbon cable between the two parts for continuity and it checks fine. I’m at a loss. Could the original control assembly have been defective? I’m not unfamiliar with electrical components, is there any way to test the different parts? I would appreciate any input.
