So I’ve had this problem before and I think the techs replaced the control board (twice, as the first one failed right away). Basically the dishwasher won’t start, but the panel lights work fine and the cancel button works (dishwasher tries to drain, makes some noise, etc). So for example I can hit "normal" and "energy saver dry" then close the door and hit start, but it won’t start. Eventually the lights will go off as if the start button was just broken. I took it apart last night and tested the switch with a meter, it’s definitely working. The cheapo plastic labels on the buttons are cracked, so it’s possible that steam is affecting those parts more than normal.
I’ve seen some discussion of the thermal fuse going on these units, would that explain this behavior or would that shut down the whole panel? Given that the board is $90, and the "labels" are $200, seem worth fixing or kill it?
