Have you. Personally put the volt meter to the fan connector? I suggest you do that to be 100% certAin
you need 110- 120v out of the connector
if 0v then controll board??
Did you do the diagnostic menu
hold reset then press power button for 4 secs.?
Need help anyone have suggestions

I have a Ge refrigerator that does not cool I did a little investigating and found that the compressor was not running I checked the run and start windings and both checked out fine. I then jumped out the board from the line side J11 directly to the compressor J8 and the compressor ran fine. What sensor is the one that energizes the comp relay and is their anyway I can manually energize the relay from the board, or how can I check to see if the board is actually receiving the signal to energize the comp relay. I went ahead and ordered the board but before I opened it I wanted to ask you your opinion, if in fact it could be the board or if it can be any one of the thermistors and if so which one and how do I test thermistors. This fridge has 2 thermistors in freezer and 2 in cooler and I believe it has 1 T stat in the cooler also.
Thanks in advance,
Rare thermisters fail, just install the new board and follow the instructions with it.
Hey Rich thanks for the reply i went ahead and installed the board like you said and the compressor came on instantly. The fridge seems to working fine now is there a reason the board failed? should i be checking anything else that might of caused this board to go bad, or was it just the boards time to quit?
It would help to put a 1000joule surge protector on the wall outlet, get one at Wall Mart designed for appliances
Microwave hood combination- Exhaust fan motor squeals loudly when running. How do I get to this motor? Do I have to remove the microwave from the cabinet?
Hi there,
I used this thread to diagnose and attempt a repair on my KitchenAid refrigerator (Model KSBS25INSS01). Based on the fact that I got a voltage reading at the fan connector, I ordered a fan (also from this site, Order # 2524374). Got the fan installed today. When I refit the connector, the fan spun for about 1 second, then quit. I unplugged the fridge, let it sit for about 10 seconds, then replugged. No fan, even when the compressor is running. The door frame is now getting hot again.
Circuit board?
Chris
Seems like a bad control board AP3773712 located behind the control panel.

So the "control board" is not the actual board with membrane buttons and LED readouts, but another behind that board?
Chris
Hello? Just looking for confirmation on the control board to order.
Thanks,
Chris
Never mind. I took down the control panel so I could see the control board. I’ve just ordered one.
Chris
I installed the new control board yesterday afternoon. After plugging the fridge back in, when the compressor kicked on, so did the fan. Good.
Today the fan quit running again, so basically my new fan + new board got me through about 24 hours.
Is there something else to look at? Did I get a bad board?
Chris
Yoy have another control board near the compressor AP4411082 Generally if it has a power relay on the board, it controls the compressor and condensing fan. You can check the schematic to find which board sends power to the condensing motor.
Ok, so I’m sitting behind the fridge, taking off the back cover of the compressor control panel unit and I notice the condenser fan randomly turning on and off. While the compressor is running, the fan seems to just randomly turn on, run for a few seconds, then turn off.
Still the 2nd control board down at the compressor?
Chris
Looks like you have a bad condensing motor that is burning out the motor drive circuit in the control board, all the symptoms point in that direction!

What is a condensing motor? Do you mean the motor for the condenser fan? If so, I purchased and installed one new from this site prior to purchasing and installing the control board.
Are you saying the new fan I purchased has a bad motor?
Chris
Get a line cord and plug in the motor to the wall outlet, if it runs fine, you have other problems, maybe a intermittent wire. Best to locate where the motor wires go to to trace it down to either a bad connection, or a bad board.
Looks like you have a power variac in the control board by the compressor AP4411082, most probably your problem. This board is inside a cover and not the inverter board.
Is there also a temperature trigger for the fan? The freezer started heating up again today and the fan came on and remained on until the freezer cooled back off (I have had a box fan moving air across the coils and turned it up a level to bring the temp down).
Does the fact that the fan runs reliably when the temperature of the coolant is elevated indicate that the fan circuit is ok?
If so, why do the temperatures continue to elevate even with a box fan moving air across the condenser coils? Has my compressor become damaged by the elevated temperatures? The coolant less effective?
I also noticed water now in the drip pan underneath as well as on top of the water valve bracket. I recently replaced the water valve and ice maker (parts not purchased from here). Bad valve? Drainage due to elevated freezer temps?
