Leaking Maytag LA9800

My washer has not given me any problems until recently. I normally wash on WARM, but I had a very dirty load that I washed on HOT. The very next time I used the washer (on warm) it leaked while it agitated and possibly while it spun.
I am thinking it is the pump because that is the area that the water seems to be coming from, but the bottom panel of the washer is not getting wet. Could it be leaking around where the pulley goes into the pump?
I need to find a manual or instructions that tell me how to replace the pump. It looks like I am going to either turn the washer on its side and take the bottom off or take the drum and everything out to get to the pump.
Thanks.

You have to remove the front panel in order to access all parts inside and find out where it is leaking from before ordering any parts.

Remove the screw on each side on the bottom of the front panel. Grab the front panel on the bottom and lift it up for about 45° to release it from the locking tabs on the top.

Run the washer and watch the leak.

Gene: We too had a leak and I took off the front panel from the Maytag Washer LA9800. However, the retainer clips came loose and I cannot figure out how to reattach them. Please clue me in. Thanks, Master of Nothing

Here is the service manual for the Maytag dependable washers, maybe it will help.
