Thanks denman,
The terminal strip is that where the cord attaches to the stove?
You are correct all the 120 is working correctly, but all the power comes
from the 240 plug in. If the connection was not good enough to get 240
to make the elements work why dose the 120 work?

Yes

Basically you have two 120 volt supplies going to the stove with a common Neutral. These supplies are 180 degrees out of phase, one is going positive while the other is going negative.
So lets say the L1 supply is at 120 volts positive and then the L2 supply would be at 120 volts negative if you then measure from L1 to L2 you get the 240 volts.
So if one side is good you get the 120 but if the other side is missing for some reason you do not have the 240.
Well I checked that terminal strip & could no belive how loose the connections were! I tightened them up knowing for sure that was the fix.
It still doesn"t work. What’s next?
OK. Heres the deal. with a meter - power at wall but no power on 1 side of of terminal strip. I have tested for continuitythur the cord & that seems ok. I swaped the power cable at the terminal strip end for end - moving the left side of power cable to the right side of terminal strip ect. All contacts on strip & cable have both been cleaned. As soon as I reversed the power cable at strip the stove works ??? I don’t think I fixed any thing
but it works. Is the cable bad or is the terminal strip bad?
