LOUD Metal Grinding noise on spin cyle

We replaced the direct drive coupling ang a motor mount bolt which had broken off. We put it back together and it agitates, fill and drains fine. During the spin cycle there is metal to metal contact somwhere and upon taking it back apart it seems the noise is from the brake spring rubbing but we cannot figure out where it is rubbing or how to fix it. It has almost cut through the first twosections on the spring. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

You will need to take it apart to check the brake spring. If you loosened the drive block nut holding the spin basket in place and never tightened it, you have a spin tube that dropped down. Take apart info at %url% and refer to my sticky "replacing direct drive washer brake shoes for specific info.
