Washer Functions Fine-whines Very Loud On Spin Cycle. By Viewing The Exploded Parts Diagram, Is The Spinner Support Assy. The Likely Cause–had The Same Model When It First Came Out ,the Same Problem Was Fixed Under Warranty. This Unit Is No Longer Under Warranty–no Indication Of What Was Repaired At That Time
If it was repaired under warranty before you maybe able to call maytag/whirlpool with your model/serial number and find out the repair history.
If it is the Spinner Support Assy you may notice by looking at the front of the tub that the tub no longer sits in the center.
It could also be a problem with the tub bearing.
You could remove the back panel and have a look around the pulley to see if there is a trail of oil/water around the bearing.
