My washing machine (LSB6200KQ0) won’t finish the cycle. It will fill and agitate with the lid open, and then there’s a slower speed agitation that requires the lid to be closed. That speed works when we close the lid, so I think we can safely rule out the lid switch. It gets to the point in the cycle that it should drain the water, then spin, then refill to rinse, and it just stops. The first time it did this, it all just stopped at that point. About 12 hours later, the timer started moving again, but it didn’t drain/spin/rinse. You could just hear the timer making a humming noise and then when it got to the end, the end of cycle buzzer went off. The next morning, we fiddled with the timer, trying to see if it would start again in any position. When put back to the beginning of the cycle, it would start again and it would go through the 2 agitation speeds, then stop in the same exact place. This time, there was an electrical fire-like smell. Again, hours later, the timer would resume through the cycle and the buzzer would go off at the end, but it still didn’t finish the cycle. We went down to the laundry room the next day, and the washing machine was then empty. lol Hubby thinks there may be a short in the timer and it’s arcing? Any suggestions?
I think the problem is either the timer or lid switch. Even though the lid switch is required for low speed agitation, the motor is already running when the lid switch takes over which is not the case when it’s time for spin. I would try byapssing the lid switch first. If this makes no difference, then replace the timer. If you buy from APP, you may return it if it doesn’t solve the problem.
