Hello,
My oven will not heat on my Magic Chef range. I don’t smell gas and I don’t know where the pilot light would be, but I don’t see anything lit.
The 4 burners on the range work just fine.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated!

There is a glow coil igniter in the oven. Remove the oven floor and the flame spreader to access the part. Unplug the igniter and check for 120 VAC to the igniter while the oven thermostat calls for heat.
If there is 120VAC, replace the igniter.
If there is no proper voltage, remove the wires from the safety valve (#18 on the diagram) and check for continuity between those terminals.
If there is no continuity, replace the gas safety valve.
If there is continuity, replace the oven thermostat.

thanks so much for the info!
turns out, our oven is working, but it just takes a much longer time to get the flame going.
does this mean that one of our parts is on its way out? if so, which one, most likely?
If it takes more than 70 seconds to light the oven burner, then igniter is weak. It’ll completely die pretty soon.
If it takes more than 90 second, it’s time to replace it right now.
