I have a Frigidaire Galaxy front loader washer. The drum was banging on spin. I opened up the back and saw that a shock was broken. So I ordered those and replaced both. The new problem is the actual drum inside of the casing that surrounds the drum is sitting low in the front. The part I am talking about is the part that actually spins the clothes. I can lift it up but it falls right back down. My question is, Are there another set of springs inside the palstic casing surrounding the drum? If so would that cause the drum in the front to drop and become unbalanced? Thenk you for the assistance.
Check the suspension springs at the front tub housing first, then go from the diagram for other parts that may be worn. The inner tub shaft may have issues where it mounts at the rear of the tub.
