I have a Maytag A5000 that will fill then stop. What used to work was simply banging the top of the machine (pretty hard) with your fist.
Presto chango the whole thing then worked like a charm. Instead of investigating I just kept doing this …
And then the other day, fist bump no longer works.
Thoughts?
Could be lid switch, timer or water level pressure switch. Open control panel, unplug wires at SW and M on lid switch assembly and jump them together. Use a good tight jumper connection as this will carry full motor current if it runs. If that doesn’t work, jump out white and yellow/black on pressure switch. If that doesn’t work, looks like timer.
