Maytag Atlantis Washer Leaks

We noticed water coming form under our Maytag Atlantis washer and it appears we’ve isolated the source to the water inlet valve (there was moisture around it and one of the metal pieces holding in the solenoid shows signs of corrosion. Does this sound like a reasonable assessment? Is this common? Before ordering the part is there any way to test our part to make sure?

If you open the top you will see the valve assembly and you should be able to see the leak.

Here is a Maytag Tech Bulletin on your model which explains how to change it out and how to get to it.

I also have an older Atlantis washer with a big water leak but it appears to be mainly at the drain pump. Is this pump repairable. ? Also the belt for the drive pulley is a little slack. Is there a way to tighten this belt ? The belt area smells like burned rubber. I tried to run a test w/o clothes and the water setting at the lowest level but the water would not go down in the tub although the tub was spinning. Any suggestions before I scrap this unit ?
