Maytag Dryer makes an awful squealing noise

Dryer dries great but it makes an awful racquet (squealing Noise). I have replaced the front tumbler seal and it was better for a couple of days and now it is worse than ever. When I had it apart the last time I noticed the belt is fine but I wonder if I should have replaced the rear seal as well and the tumbler wheels. I don’t want to just buy parts. I was hoping you could give some insight as to what I need to purchase other than a "new" dryer. Thank you in advance for your input, I appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Cfoley

Cannot be of much more help.

If the WD40 did quiet it down for a while and you only put it on the rear wheels then they would be a prime suspect.

FYI WD40 is a crappy lubricant better off with 3in1 or any straight oil.

That is what I was thinking as far as the wheels go. Should I replace the bearings also?

Thanks,

Cfoley

The bearing is part of the roller, see Item 24 in the "Tumbler" section.

Just check the shafts and the front/back washers to make sure they are not worn.
You will need a pair of Cir (sir) clip pliers to remove the retaining clips.

I would catch up on the wash and then open it up check everything then get the parts and do it all at once.
Also a good idea to clean/check the blower wheel and your vent system.

Opened it up and ordered 2 rollers and 1 shaft, the other one is fine, along with a belt. Thanks again for all your input I appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Cfoley

My pleasure
