Dryer timer won’t advance during dry cycle but the clothes get dry. The timer should advance to a cool down cycle, but does not. Replaced expensive timer and the problem is still there. I selected "air dry" and set the timer to air fluff dry and it still didn’t advance.
Cleaned terminal on the sensor located in the tub, still the timer doesn’t advance. Is the moisture control board the problem or what?
Open control panel and unplug sensor from electronic control board (dryness display). Sensor is the blue wire. If timer still won’t advance, unplug connector from control board, check for dirty contacts on control board and plug. Re-seat plug and try again with sensor wire still disconnected. If timer still won’t advance, replace control board.

If the Moisture Control Board is not the problem, is it possible the Thermostat is the problem. The last time the dryer was working the dryer filter got full and the clothes became hot, would this have caused a problem with the thermostat going back?
No, thermostats have no control over timer motor in this dryer. If it appears that control board is the problem, unplug control board connector and jump the white and brown wires together. Timer should now work but will run as in timed dry (all the time), and will also run all the time if timer set to auto-dry. You would need new control board for timer to function properly in auto-dry.

I followed the instructions you sent: removed blue wire from sensor board, ran dryer and timer did not advance. Pulled connector from board, cleaned contact points with alcohol, installed connector back to board, ran dryer and timer did not advance. Cleaned terminal where blue wire was connected, connected blue wire and ran dryer - timer did not advance.
Is there any chance the moisture bar located in the dryer drum is defective? The moisture control board assembly isn’t cheap, so I want to make sure before I sink another chunk of money into this repair.
No. The blue wire that you disconnected goes to the moisture sensor. When you disconnect it from circuit board, circuit board should allow timer to advance. This is the test to determine if problem is leaking/faulty sensor or circuit board. If you buy board from APP and it doesn’t fix the problem, you may return it.
