Maytag Neptune dryer won’t stay off

Our Maytag Neptune dryer stopped working - the panel stayed on and would make a beep every few minutes but the dryer would not run. Just stayed on making the beep. A repair man told us we needed a new control board. We purchased one from Appliance Parts Pros and installed it last night. We were thrilled when it worked - but after the first load dried and I turned the dryer off, within minutes it turned itself back on to 44 minutes and would beep every few seconds. I turned it off, it turned itself back on. So I have unplugged it now. It will run when I hit “pause” but after the cycle is over - it won’t stay off.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

It sounds like you may have a stuck or shorted membrane (Touch Pad) switch. Did your technician test the touch pad?

How do you test the membrane or touchpad switch?
