I have the Maytag Neptune tl top load washer (FAV9800AWW). I have been having a problem with the left lid lock. From my understanding the right lid lock is not necessary for this model. I purchased and installed a used left & right lid lock. The washer worked fine for about 3 months. Now, it will not start a load again. The only message I get is three beeps and "close the lid and push start." However, the lid is closed and there are not any visible obstructions or dents. I thought it may not work because the part was used. I did open the lid lock and it appears that the wires are connected and the metal connectors seem to be fine. What would be the next thing I could try? I am not sure about purchasing another part to only have it not work. Since it is 10 years old I may purchase a new washer but if this is an easy fix I would prefer to repair it.
