Maytag Neptune washer

The washer will fill with water but then shuts off (light goes out). Will not agitate or spin. Control knob can be advanced and water is pumped out. Door lock works (wax motor lock was replaced in '06 along w/ the control board). Had repairman out and he guessed it was the control board, but I see no burned parts on board. I see no burned parts on motor control board either. I heard a loud pop or crack when it went out but I see nothing that would have caused it. Any ideas?

Don’t forget that the motor conversion kit is covered by Maytag for 10 years…

We are in Australia and need help to repair our neptune front load washer.Maytag Australia will not admit that there is a problem with this model due to the door lock motor failing causing the main board to fail . Is it posible to get parts and advice/help from you to us in Australia.If so what do we need to do next.I am able to do carry out the repairs myself if I can get the parts.Thank you in advance Grub.

Check the power source and all wires. There is suppose to be two legs, 120VAC each and 240VAC between them, coming to the cooktop.

Hi Ed,

I’m sorry because I referred you to a wrong Service manual which is for a newer models. Finally I found the right [B]Service manual[/B] and hopefully it’ll help you better.

The first thing I would do is check all connections in the junction box according to the installation instructions from the Service manual. It is very important and I’ve seen many mistakes done by installers.

Then check if the control board and the key board are properly connected as it’s shown on the picture (page 3-3).

Perform all troubleshooting as recommended in the Service manual. Post the results.

The other day our oven would not maintain temperature or shut off using the touch pad controls. I had to shut off the breaker. I located the control module (pt # 3195101, replaced by Whirlpool with #6610057) and there was not any apparent damage (overheating, corrosion, etc). I’m wondering if the problem is in the electronic module or some other part. The replacement module is about 1/3 the cost of a new stove.

I understand that using the self cleaning features breaks my oven…great, now I get it.
I want to over ride the whole lock so that the oven will think it is unlock and start working again.

I also dont care if i will ever you the cleaning part either.

There are four wires that connect to the motorized lock. One dark blue (maybe black, but looks blue) one orange, and two yellow that just connect to each other.

Can i just connect the right combination so the oven thinks the door is unlocked and will work again?

Any help would be great
