I have gotten the strangest error code 5Ab on my Maytag Range display. My husband reset the time last Sunday (the 4th) for DLS(Daylight Savings Time) and last night this message code appeared. The top burners will light but the oven WILL NOT WORK.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

bought replacement oven therm. and it has three sets of dip switches instead of two like the oem part… double checked thru maytag and whirlpool and it all says the same part #…need schematic for this unit… wiring diagram or some expert advice…

I tried to shut stove down at breaker switch ,no luck then I was
in the process of fabricating a story to tell my wife ,
when I found your post.

I have the same issue and I’ve tried resetting the sabbath mode and it works for about 15 seconds and then returns to the sabbath mode without touching anything. Any suggestions?

I held the Clock button for 3 seconds and then the Sab flashes for 5 seconds and stays constant with Sab displayed. After that It held the Clock button for 3 seconds and the Sab flashes for 5 seconds and returns to the clock display, but when I try hitting bake or any other button on the stove, nothing happens until I press the cancel button. Then I can hit the Bake, Clock or any other button and it works for about 15 seconds and then returns to the Sabbath mode automatically. I’ve tried everything it is instructing me to in the manual and still nothing works.
The oven I have is a Jenn-Air Gas Range Electronic Touch Control 800.

Gene, you saved my bacon also. I went shopping today and was going to buy a new range tomorrow. My range got about 2’ of water during Hurricane Ike. I had to replace the ignitor a couple of months ago and really didn’t want to spend any more money on this range. I thought my error code said 5 A6 or 5 Ab. Thanks!! Now if you can tell me how to fix my Frigidaire side by side that also got flooded. I actually feel pretty lucky to have had this work for 3 1/2 years after the flood.
