Maytag Performa Dryer

When I pushed the knob to start it would make a buzzing sound from the panel. Now it wont start at all & theres a burning smell from the timer. Im thinking thats what I should replace…whats your opinion? Thank you!

I would agree with you. The timer part # is 53-1810. Tom http://www.applianceeducator.com/parts.htm

Hi Kayakcrzy,
Problem with Maytag dryer #MDG8600AWW no heat. I order all these parts from APP and already replaced it. Thermal fuse , Cycling thermostat , ignitor , Both gas coil valve and the gas valve …!!! Still no heat?

I have checked all heating elements passed contuinity, blower wheel in good shape and clean vent to outside wall . Turn on dryer the ignitor glow for 20 seconds and goes out , I could smell the gas but no flame. Yesterday I received Gas Valve and installed right away , tested 3-4 times works fine(Yellow Flame not blue Flame), but after I put everything together ready for the first load and it went back same problem. My wife told me the problem start out not hot enough, after I try to fix it (save money)now no heat at all. So far I already spend $400 and Hours of free labor and got chew off with the B!!! . She told me today is my last day to fix dryer or I get fired.Tomorrow she’ll go shopping fornew dryer from BESTBUY.So please help me . THanks

Heck, the only thing left is the flame sensor!!! Tom http://www.applianceeducator.com
