MAytag washer wont spin fast enough

My Maytag top load washer Model PAV2300AWW. Does not spin fast enough in the spin cycle. However sometimes it does get up to speed. Any ideas on where to start to fix this problem

I have already checked the pulleys and belts underneath, they seem fine and move in either directions

Hi.

Remove the front panel and check the motor plate for any obstructions.The motor is gliding on the plate when reversing.
The speed depends on how far the motor moves.Also the belt may get loose.
