Maytag

Spincycle does not work my Maytag washer. The agitation cycle works fine. I have replaced the lidswitch. The belts are intact.

I assume the motor is not operating during the spin cycle, in which case the timer, timer contacts with the wire harness, wiring to the motor or the speed switch could be the problem.

I had replaced the timer. The washer now runs without stoping. When it completes the cycle that it is on, it just automatically jumps into the next wash cycle with out stopping at the end of the cycle like it is supposed to.

I assume it is now spinning ok, just that the timer is not stopping.

It may be that the replacement timer is defective, possible but not likely. My best guess is that there is some type of short in the wiring that caused the old timer to malfunction. See if you can trace out the wiring from the timer and look for a frayed piece or some other problem.

If you cannot find anything you may want to return the timer to the seller and ask for a replacement.

Good luck.
