micro displays "DOOR", wont start

I have a Kitchenaid micro/oven combo. When pressing start on the micro, it beeps and displays the word "DOOR". Obviously it wont start. any ideas?

Just want to say that I have the exact same problem with a Whirlpool model GMC305PDB07 I posted today and "Gene" provided a viable solution, but I haven’t tried it yet.

Please search on posts by RichardJ in the microwave forum to find my original post and Gene’s reply. Gene’s profile indicates he’s a retired appliance repair shop owner/technician.

If you already have your problem solved, could you let me know if your solution was a blown fuse, or what?
