Everything works, just doesn’t heat anything. I have 120 VAC on the primary side of the big transformer under the magnetron so I suspected I had a bad magnetron. I ordered a new one from AppliancePartsPros (order # 417722) and installed it, but no change.
I appreciate any help you can give.
Did you change the diode as well, if not you need to change it
Thanks for your help, but I am not familiar with any diode associated with the magnetron. Also, there is not a diode listed in the critical parts list for service that came with the microwave. Is it on the smart board or a stand alone part?
Thanks
It is connected to the high voltage capacitor.
You were right! The diode was shorted out. Thanks for the part number. While I’m ordering this part and have the microwave unit all apart, are there any other parts you would recommend I replace on a 7-year old unit?
Thanks again.
my jvm1650wb001 just did this last night do I need to change both the magnetron and diode or just the diode?
Received and installed the diode. Microwave works great now! Thanks for your expert help! My wife really appreciates it!
fresh food door top end cap is broken and need replacement. But available options are not the same part. Per the diagram it should be part 1002. However while the broken part does have 2 holes in the top - and 2 on the sides, the elbow bends to the left. In the picture it bends to the right. Apparently the part has been updated, part in comparison to my broken part it is too small.
One difference might be that my refrigerator has installed an optional front wood panel. Would different trim kits come with the paneling and do I then need to be looking into a completely different site instead of GE refrigerators?
Here are your parts

If your door has been installed on the opposite side then it would be 1001.

This may be part of the panel kit, could not find a shipping list for the kit so do not know. In any case if it is too small then the previous answer does not help you.

No I think you are stuck with GE.
I assume you have the original manual or have downloaded it from the GE site. Unfortunately it does not give much info on what is included with a panel kit.
I believe your panel kits are TKP22ACBB (black) or WW (white). Could not find anything on a wood panel kit.
Call GE maybe they can supply you with a ship/parts list.
Thank you for your explanation on oven codes. My Tappan Self Cleaning oven is now showing code F3. I used the self cleaning oven mode yesterday. I have never before had a problem. I see from your prior post that F3 likely means faulty oven sensor. What does that mean, and what part is needed? Is it worth it to repair if the model is around 14 years old?
Thank you.

TRY REPLACING THE DIODE ON IT IT LOOKS LIKE A FUSE.
City turned water off, I drained the pipes in the house. When the water came back on ice maker did not make ice. Replaced filter, have clear water from water dispenser. Fan in ice maker rotates, drops of water drip into the "chute" that lies just below the tray. Can you give me some advice?
