Trying to replace vent light, one broke off in socket. Seems this is a common flaw in GE microwaves, no? Nonetheless, now vent lights and vent fan will not work.
Please tell me what I need to do and the cost involved. I checked Tritonics (your link), and it is impossible to maneuver their site to see if they have a control panel/board.
Thank you for your help!
Happy holidays,
Nigel
Is this what you ended up doing with regard to your post here of a similar issue? I saw your post in perusing the threads in hopes of finding an answer. If you get this post, please do tell me what was done to solve your problem.
By the way, I got the broken bulb stem out of the socket. If nothing else was learned from this, I’ve learned to UNPLUG microwave before changing bulbs, something of which I was ignorant (no manual).
Thank you, badfish … MERRY CHRISTMAS and happy new year.
Best regards,
Nigel
This is what I do for the customers that can’t afford the price of a new board.
I have a 9yr old ge jvm1631 micro, only the bulbs for the cooktop arent getting pwr. bought the house recently and dont want to spend much on this old unit. dont mind soldering the strands in. havent totally pulled the board out yet. but are you saying that the circuit could be the only issue and not any other components? the resisters with the vent space behind them look like they get hot, maybe that is normal. that would be an easy fix if nothing else is bad. i had wondered before reading this, if the relay could be shot. j.d.
i have intalled a new control panel and am getting a f2 e1 error how do i fix
What was the original problem?
You may want to double check the control panel ribbon cable connection to the control board.
