Microwave with F2 error

We bought our home and inherited this whirlpool microwave. The display screen is showing F2. It won’t warm anything, unable to set clock. It just won’t work. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with it, and how can it be repaired?

Thanks

The "F2" error code means "Membrane switch failure". If you need the correct part number for a membrane switch then post the color of the control panel.

Gene.

Whirlpool duet front loading washing machine has been giving off F11 signal for quite some time. Took the dryer off the top and re-plugged in the wiring harness into the control unit. This has worked pretty well, have also installed some vibration pads between the washer and the dryer. However, sometimes the F11 comes on, and we tap the back of the washer and it seems to work. Question is this, I’d like to go ahead and fix it right. How do I know whether the problem is the wiring harness or the control unit?

If this post is a repeat forgive me, I typed my first one but could not find it on the website.

Thanks

F 11 is apparently a communications error code, normally between the central control unit and the motor, but this is not always the case. It seems that the most common causes are bad contacts at the central control unit or the motor. The second most common appears to be a relay on the control board. You can do an internet search ‘F11 error code for washers’, that way you will get all the feedback for the related Kenmore models which are just Whirlpool made but in different wrappings. Sorry I cannot be much more help but I am a mechanical engineer, not an electronics/electrical engineer. Lets just hope someone with the electrical expertise can give you more help.
