Moaning sound gone, now too cold

Good day,

Replacing the main board resolved the moaning sound caused by the cycling of the freezer fan, but now there is no apparent temperature control. Even with the setting on 1, the refrigerator side is cold enough to begin freezing some items. Mechanically, the damper opens and closes without restriction–it was closed when I removed the cover, then opened when I powered back up–I am not sure if it "should" have opened at this point, but it moves okay. I also replaced the FF Thermistor even though the existing and new both measured 5.6K ohms at room temperature.

Now what? I appreciate any thoughts folks might have.

Hi.

Did you read the control board replacement instructions?
Depends on the serial number you may need to do adjustments.

Simon.

Simon,
Thanks for the response. I don’t recall seeing anything about adjustments? I don’t see any pots on the board? Can you provide a link to the document?
Bill

The board I received was WR55X10942. As mentioned, I don’t recall any adjustments. Is there a chance this is the wrong board?

Hi.

Below find the link with instructions

Simon.

Simon,
Thank you for the quick response and links to the instructions. With a review of them, I have found and resolved the problem.

Because every post regarding the replacement of the main board also mentioned removing the wire from pin 2 on the connector, I assumed (always a bad practice) that I would need to do this also. Thus, without having checked the serial number instruction, I had removed this wire from the connector. The schematic that I have clearly shows that this wire connects to the FF Thermistor and removing it took the Thermistor out of the circuit. So now we know one of the possible responses when the situation is, "I replaced the main board, now it is getting too cold on the FF side, and there is no apparent temperature control."

Thanks again for the very quick parts delivery, timely and competent responses to questions, and providing a service that I am sure to use again and again.
