Hello,
I have a Whirlpool WDF789SLYB0 that is currently not heating anymore.
My searches online state it is either the heater, the hi-limit thermostat, or the control board.
I have found on here to check for continuity in the heater and hi-limit thermostat. If those are okay then it’s probably the control board.
Can someone please provide detail on how to actually test these?
For example, to correctly test the hi-limit thermostat do I just unplug both wires going to it underneath the dishwasher and then use my digital voltmeter to check continuity? If so what am I looking for, 0 ohms or?
The same general question applies to the heating element. Use the voltmeter and test it from one end to other end? Does it need to be all unplugged as well??
I appreciate any clarification on how to diagnose these parts!
