I am working on my Amana washing machine because it has been making an intermittent high-pitched grinding noise, and now there is a little transmission oil leaking into the tub.
I have already removed the drive bell and inner tub. Now I am looking at the spline shaft (from the transmission) that protrudes through a round hub (that the inner tub was bolted to with four bolts), and what appears to be a bearing with a black rubber/plastic "boot".
I can grab the spline shaft and move it side-to-side around 1/2", and it appears that the bearing is worn. I can not figure out how to remove the spline, bearing, or hub. Can anyone help me?
