Hello Everyone !
My 3 year old Whirlpool Duet Steam Front load washer started making a horrid noise while spinning. I figured it was a bad bearing so I took my washer apart and sure enough the bearing just fell out and was very damaged. Figured I’d replace the bearing and seal and would be back to washing clothes…logical thinking right ? WELL…I can’t find any local appliance part store that has it or can order it, I’ve been told over and over that you CANNOT replace the bearing you have to replace the entire assembly/rear tub which is almost $400 ???  I don’t need all that, I only need the bearing and seal !! Other Models/Brand sells just the bearing/seal…but not Whirlpool. If anyone has any advice please let me know. I shudder to think about going to the public laundromat but I’m not going to pay almost $400 for a part that I don’t need on a washer I paid $1,000 just 3 years ago !! The appliance shops asks if I have a part number for the bearing/seal, but I don’t. Please help !!
