new realy start relay didn't fix it long

Fridge stopped cooling. I read up here then cleaned condenser coils and replaced start device/overload relay (I used the original capacitor). This fixed it for a couple hours then it failed again. The fan was spinning and the cover was on the back. The compressor is now very hot and when I removed the new relay it had a slight rattle. I put the meter on the pins coming out of the condenser one reads 3.5 the other reads 6.5. What should I try next? thanks

I meant to say I tested the compressor not the condenser. It read 3.5 and 6.5

Assuming the relay is good and you are receiving the proper voltage to it you could have a bad compressor.

Could the compressor have ruined the new relay? It worked for at least 2 hours. Then back to the same issue. Would a bad compressor overheat and keep frying relays?
