My kids just gave me their oil washer & dryer. Said the water leaked onto the transmission, all the oil leaked out and it froze up. The units sat in storage for a couple years.
I just replaced the transmission (and all 4 tube suspension springs, since 2 were missing). It’s in the backyard, I filled it up with water and turned it on.
It has a loud grinding noise when it agitates. Normal sound when it spins. But I thought it was a little slow on the up-take to start the agitating cycle, almost like a womb- pause - womb - pause, then it started the agitating cycle (with what I interpret as a grinding noise).
For all I know the womb - pause may be normal for the machine; settling the load to balance it before starting, I don’t know.
I followed the repair video’s for replacing the transmission. Everything I’m finding is noise on spin not noise on agitation.
Once the agitator is screwed back on should it have any movement or should it be stuck firm in place?
Did I do something wrong when I put it back together?
