[SIZE=2]I have a Maytag Performa Washer that makes a grinding noise in the wash and rinse cycle. It aggitates slowly or not at all. Everything else works fine, such as spin and when water is filling up tub. NEED HELP![/SIZE]
Take off the front panel and listen to it and see if you can tell where the problem is, but that type of noise in the agitation cycle is usually the sign of a bad transmission, and on Performa models I think that means replacing the washer.
