I have a maytag pav1000aww that makes a weird noise only when the agitator is going. Its like a clicking noise
It is very difficult for us to diagnose noises, we sort of have to be there to listen to the type of noise and where it is coming from.
I suggest you remove the front panel and operate the machine with it off. Listen closely to the washer while it is agitating and see if you can determine where the noise is coming from. Since the machine is quiet in the spin mode this suggests no problem with the pump or motor and that the transmission or brakes are causing the problem.
