Ok So out of the blue my front loading whirlpool ghw9400 starts banging during the spin. Run over thinking maybe towels got bunched or something and actually pull a couple out and restart it and fine I guess I went on to do something else. Then a couple days later I only had a few things in there that I needed cleaned and it started to sound like someone was taking batting practice on the thing. Bearing? Basket? Shock? Spring?
How do you tell if the bearing is bad when the the back of the basket has more holes than swiss cheese and multiple cracks in it?
I would assume that Whirlpool would cover the basket under warranty since it is lifetime warranty on it right? Shouldn’t they cover the bearing as well if it is caused by a bad backet?
Is there anyway to replace/buy bearing and not the whole back half of the tub?
Wow, I don’t think I have ever seen one that looked like that. Contact Whirlpool and get them the pics and see what they will do for you. They definitely should replaced the whole assembly, whether they will or not depends in part on how strong you go after them, so go get em.
According to Whirlpool I have to have a certified technician come out to determine the next steps. Basically I can not get the parts under warranty. A certified technician has to come out and order the parts for me. So I have to pay someone to come out and order the parts under warranty. Doesn’t make any sense to me.
This was the online chat support I went through so I could send in the picts of it. So now they won’t take this any further unless I have a certified tech come look at it and order the parts under warranty for me.
