Does anyone know how to remove the outer tub bearing sleeve from the transmission shaft?This is the tubular piece of metal that the outer tub bearing fits around. It appears after years of service it has welded itself to the transmission shaft. I cannot budge it. I have a new outer bearing and sleeve but obviously the old sleeve has to come off before the new one goes on. Anyone run in to this problem? Anyone know how to remove it?
Is there any way to remove this sleeve without opening the tranny housing? I don’t want to open the tranny cover because there is really no prob with the tranny. I just want to pull off this sleeve.
Seems like you removed the tranny. This is not needed to remove the sleeve bushing.
You have to remove the tub to replace the sleeve.
