Help!
I need to replace a tub bearing on my maytag washer. The reason I am replacing it is because there is a small leak in this area. I am having problems removing the steel portion of the existing tub bearing from the shaft of the transmission. (this is not the cooper colored bearing with the rubber ring). Is there an easy trick to this? I tried to remove it but dont want to destroy it or the transmission. This part of the existing bearing is worn and has some rust on it. I think this needs tobe replace if possible. It also appears that this part of the bearing is molded onto the transmission.
Also, when reassembling the washing machine is there any greasing that I should do. Other tips would be helpful.
