Um, hi!
So, I’m certainly not a pro, and I’m not usually one to mess around with wiring, but… My Jenn-Air oven has been incessantly beeping with the error code F1. The internet suggests that means that the touch panel isn’t working, which is… Odd, because the pad seems to still work fine. The only issue we’ve had is that the display fades out occasionally so we can’t see it, but the oven and the controls are still fine. (The display isn’t dim, it stays bright until it just… Turns off? Occasionally flickers?)
First of all - does anyone know how to just… Stop the beeping? Because the oven, while not perfect, is serviceable enough as is and we can’t really afford a new one. We’ve tried flipping the circuit breaker a few times with no results. The beeping stops when the oven is on, but resumes once the oven is turned off again. If the oven weren’t beeping, we probably wouldn’t be considering a new one.
If not, can anyone recommend the best way to search for a replacement part? I’ve done an internet search, but not much luck. Should I call around to local hardware stores? Oven retailers? The site recommended by Jenn-Air doesn’t appear to have the correct part in stock.
If not THAT, is there a way I can bastardize a different part to work with my model? Or maybe even build a new circuit board or something? I have literally no experience in the matter, but the oven is almost/around thirty years old, so I’m (perhaps naively) assuming that the wiring is nowhere near as complex as a more modern appliance would be.
Honestly, this is kind of my Hail Mary pass, here, so if anyone could help me I’d be ABSURDLY grateful. If we could squeeze a few more years out of this oven it would be fantastic.
