The use and care manual shows how to take the door off, but not how to disassemble and reassemble the door.
Here’s the problem. The trim, door side parts for the door for my model in the PARTS LIST DON’T MATCH the actual part I have. Download the photo TRIM, DOOR SIDE, WHITE RH. MY right and left-hand trim, door side parts have a molded knob at the bottom, not a screw hole. The part number on my piece is 8523166, as listed in the parts manual. But it doesn’t have a hole for the Screw Trim, Lower Door, nor did I have to remove any screws to take the side trim off. I took off the door handle the moved the trim piece to the right so that the knob could slide out of the hole.
Exhibits 2 and 3 . . . . Download the TRIM, DOOR SIDE, WHITE RH DOESN’T FIT and DOESN’T FIT2 photos. It shows the Trim, Door Side, White RH fitted into the Trim, Lower Door (PN 8523175 in the manual) with the knob seated in the Trim, Lower Door. The glass door part you shipped is fitted in the Trim, Lower Door, but based on the position of the Trim, Door Side piece, you can see that there’s no gap in which the glass can fit.
Exhibit 4 . . . Download the photo TRIM, LOWER DOOR, WHITE. There’s no part number on this piece, which is metal, and the holes don’t match the parts diagram for PN 8523175 in the manual.
I’m guessing that the wrong door was put on our Whirlpool oven . . . ?? Or . . . ??
I’m prepared to send the glass, outer door we ordered and you delivered with the entire door so that we can get this resolved and I can either be proven a total idiot or vindicated . . . . S Just please don’t make me call and pay for a repairman to tell this glass doesn’t fit . . . . .
This glass has been out since Spring break 4 weeks ago? HELP???
