this washer works fine but the spins cycle start and before the cycle finish the spin will just come to a complete stop and it will not stop until about a minute or two then you can restart the spin cycle i replaced the motor with the same results any ideas on the cause?
Don’t understand what you mean by "the spin will just come to a complete stop and it will not stop until about a minute or two". Are you saying it stops spinning but the motor is still running or trying to run? When it spins, does it come up to full speed?
Eric
It spins but stops before it completes the spin cycle then ithas to cool down I guess then you can get it to start spinning again
Need to remove front panel to make some observations while spinning. Push putty knife into top groove of front panel on each side in line with lid opening to release the clips. Tilt front panel out and lift off. During spin, motor pulley, transmission pulley, belt and transmission should all be spinning. What’s happening with these when it stops spinning?
Eric
Everything stops belt clutch ect
OK, well, there is no clutch. So, I’m getting that the motor is overheating and the motor internal overload is tripping? If you leave it alone without touching the timer, does it just come back on by itself?
With the washer uplugged, rotate the larger pulley by hand CW, looking from bottom, this should release the brake and you should be able to rotate it relatively easy. The whole transmission should turn. Have someone observe that the basket is turning. If it seems really tight, it could be clothing caught between the inner and outer tubs, the brake not releasing, seizing of the tub bearing or seizing of the lower transmission bearing.
