Anyone ever seen this one:
5 year old dryer. Never a problem.
One day I press "power" button and nothing happens. The light inside the unit does come on when the door opens but the dryer doesn’t beep and the touchscreen doesn’t come on.
I open the backsplash, check all the wires/connectors are tight, close the backsplash and press the "power" button. The dryer starts normally (beeps and the touch screen lights up).
10 minutes later, again it doesn’t start. After pressing the "power" button repeatedly (20/30 times) it starts.
$500 later, I replace the backsplash (which has the "power button") and the control board.
I STILL HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM! Sometimes the dryer starts (mostly when I’m testing it) and sometimes it doesn’t (mostly when I have wet clothes that need to dry).
I did press the keystroke sequence that puts it in "service mode" (thanks for the tip, posters) but it says that no problem was detected.
