My front loading machine sounds like a jet that is taking off during the spin cycle. It appears to be the rear bearing. However, I have a few questions:
-
I understand that the rear bearing alone cannot be replaced. Instead, I need to replace the shell and rear bearing (131462800). I think this can be done (with some difficulty) without removing the entire tub. Is this true?
-
When I rotate the tub, I can hear something loose between the tub and shell. Sounds like a piece of metal. What are the chances that more than the rear bearing has failed - possibly the spider arms?
-
Assuming I decide to attempt this repair, how do I remove the shell/rear bearing from the shaft? It doesn’t look like there is a place to attach a puller?
Thanks,
Jason
