Refrig Freezing food, Temp Display probs, GE Profile Bottom Freezer

Bought this refrigerator new about 3 years ago and it looks like it’s having some issues. The refrigerator is freezing food, the temperature display in the refrigerator only works occasionally, and the condenser fan does not seem to be working.

My initial hunch is that the condenser motor (AP3797248) and board ASM main control (AP4436216) are bad. Not sure if this is right, or if it explains the display malfunction too.

Can anyone provide some ideas on what’s wrong?

For now I’ve placed a small fan by the condenser coils and let it run continuously to address the condenser fan problem.

Thanks,
George

Of course, the warranty for things that really go wrong is only for 1 year on the Profile products. Profile dishwasher purchased at about the same time also needs some replacement parts. Not real happy with GE products at this point:(

Replacing the main board and condenser fan fixed the fan issue, and fortunately, also fixed the intermittent digital display in the refrigerator.

Replacing the main board was pretty simple–I’ve attached the installation instructions that came with the board. For my model I did not need to perform steps 2 or 4.

Replacing the fan was a bit of fiddly work. There are two screws that hold the motor in a white plastic support, but to get to the screws you must remove the fan blade shroud first.
