Refrigerator Ice/water front panel won't stop dispensing

My refrigerator front panel has the same output arm for the water and ice and it won’t stop dispensing. If it’s set to ice it shoots ice all over the place and won’t quit. If it’s set to water the water won’t stop. I’ve tried turning off and on with no luck. If I tap the arm over and over it will stop, but I heard something like a switch that comes on and off until it’s shooting water or ice constantly again. Right not I have the front panel locked to keep it from dispensing, but would like to have full functionality. I’m guessing it’s some kind of switch that’s not opening/closing completely. When I turn the panel on I hear some clicking like something is stuck between on and off. Fiddling with the actuator arm doesn’t do much, though.
