Compressor works only if refrigerator is on coldest setting. Does not cool on less cool settings. Defrost panels (around door) are very warm to the touch. Could this be the thermostat and defrost timer? Any ideas on how to check these?

Change the thermostat.

The timer, pn wd21x0781 is no longer available from the mfg. Is there another replacement timer that will fit and work?
